RADIOLOGIST COURSE FEES FOR 2013 - PRE REGISTER NOW PAYABLE IN SEPT 2012
 
1.Asian Radiologists and College of Radiology , Malaysia and Hong Kong -   Doing  Public + Private Work or Private work alone   US 1200 or RM 3600.00
 
2.Asian Radiologists(no private work)  :  Defence -   - RM 3285.00 ringgit    US 1= 3.1
 
3.  KKM RADIOLOGISTS =as there is no sponsorship available from the  Ministry of Health of Malaysia due to tight budget you will have a special discounted rate of RM 2800.00 per person up to a limit of 7 persons.  Hopefully there will be a budget for you in 2013
 
4.University Lecturers (with proof ) from Asia -  who will promise to return and use the teaching materials to teach their residents -  RM 2900.00   US payment US 1= 3.1 ( 5 places only )
 
5.  Radiologists from the following countries :  Phillipines ,  Bangladesh ,  Vietnam, Laos , Indonesia and Cambodia  US 900( 5 places only  ) US 1= 3.1
 
6.    Up to 10 final year  trainee radiologists from any country  Malaysian RM 2900.00 or  US 950.00 based on current US exchange  or International  US SRT members welcome to register.
 
7.   USA , EUROPE OR ASIANS  WORKING IN MIDDLE EAST(UAE, KUWAIT, QATAR, BAHRAIN, OMAN )  DELEGATES ALSO WELCOME AND RATE IS  US  1300.00 which is very reasonable for 35 hours of CME.

Total number of participants allowed  25  Radiology Course and 30  participants for Physicians course with 5- 6 full time well trained and practicing MSK ultrasound demonstrators and 5-6 ultrasound stations (one for extra practice after learning technique)  with top end machines with 5-6 full time paid models costing nearly RM 8000 for both courses.
 
As usual we have 2 tea breaks with two carefully selected snacks to reflect Malaysian delicacies and 4 themed Lunch Buffets each lunchtime at the Seaside Terrace where you can view the beach including a BBQ lunch .

INTENSIVE RADIOLOGIST COURSE FOLLOWED BY CLINICAL ATTACHMENT TESTIMONIAL

I am glad that I had this opportunity to attend the Penang Intensive hands on MSK course

for Radiologists .

 

Professionally it was an immense learning experience.The course was in true sense as intensive in nature and the additional benefit I personally derived from seeing you work and your problem solving approach.

 

I think that" problem solving approach" impressed me the most and probably will stay with me for rest of my life.

 

 

Extending my stay for clinical attachment assisted  me the most,as it gave me the chance to practice the technique and also provided me with the opportunity to absorb the vast knowledge of Prof.John Geroge gained  over a period of  18  yrs.

 

Seeing him work was a sheer pleasure.

 

Working with him was fun,exciting and a true learning experience,where you can go to the core of subject,integrate,anatomy ,pathology and radology and come out with an answer.

 

 

I highly recommend attachments with him for clinical fellowships for all those who want to really understand MSK radiology.  It is going to be a wonderful learning curve I can vouch for.

CERTIFICATION FOR 2012 PENANG COURSES CONFIRMED
26th April 2011
 
Due to the heavy expenses incurred to certify the course under  the Medical Progress Institute of Great Britain under a local company the Course Director Prof Dr John George has obtained the certification through the Malaysian Association of Sports Medicine for CPD points .
 
The savings from the course not having to pay the 2011 sponsor so much to run the meeting will be passed on to various delegates in the form of an educational grant and reduction in fees  especially those working in public institutions in not so developed countries and first 10 final year radiology trainees to apply for the course and reduction in fees for many subgroups.  Nearly 20 CME points will be accorded to this course according to Malaysian Medical Council present rulings which should be reciprocal.
 
As in most countries you can hand in your certificate to your Medical Council with the CME points from the Malaysian Medical Council printed on the certificate to get reciprocal or more points from your own Medical Council.

Both Radiology and Physician Courses  will be certified by the Malaysian Association of Sports Medicine for 2012  and the Radiologists course will be held from March 21st to 24th and the Physicians course 25th and 26th  2012 .   Once again educational grants are being awarded to University lecturers from IndoChina and poorer countries.
 
The course structure will be modified based on feedback from the recent course to have more MRI video hyperlinks to the lecture material so actual examples can be viewed as soon as the theory is done and this should assist in the homework.    Apart from this the course will maintain its high standard of materials and quality of materials provided

RM 950 first month and RM 850 for each subsequent month to University of Malaya only

Prof George does not get any money but expects some work on papers, collecting and putting cases on powerpoint , writing full reports using template system under his supervision - approx 20 full cases of each major joint each month should be chosen from the large number of cases for teaching . This is where the real learning occurs as he goes over the preliminary reports you have made.
 
You will attend and perform  MSK ultrasound sessions taking your time on the  patients on each list of all joints.  
 
You may want to attend in a pair to save on expenses and share the 3 bedroom apartment expenditure .  The apartment is fully furnished with indoor swimming pool .  As a car is provided wiht the package you have no issues to go out for shopping for food or eating out in KL which is famous for its variety of Malaysian food .
